Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Branched Studios LLC ("LoveLetter," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the LoveLetter apps, website, and related services (the "Service"). Please read them carefully.

1. Accepting these Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use LoveLetter, and you must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Your account and your partner

• You're responsible for the information you provide and for activity that happens through your account.
• LoveLetter is designed to be shared with one partner. When you connect with a partner, your answers and notes become visible to them, and theirs to you.
• Keep your sign-in method and any invite links private. Don't share an invite link with anyone you don't intend to pair with.
• You're responsible for the relationship between the two linked accounts; we're not able to mediate disputes between partners.

4. Subscriptions and billing (LoveLetter Plus)

• Auto-renewal. LoveLetter Plus is an auto-renewing subscription. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, it renews automatically and your payment method is charged at the then-current price.
• Payment. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. We don't receive or store your full payment-card details.
• Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• One subscription, two people. A single LoveLetter Plus subscription unlocks Plus features for both linked partners, as described in the app.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by the app store you purchased through, according to their policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly.
• Price & feature changes. We may change prices or the features included in Plus. If a change affects an active subscription, we'll give notice as required by the app stores and applicable law.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the answers, notes, and other content you create ("Your Content"). To operate the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, back up, sync, and display Your Content for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your linked partner. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content already shared with your partner or copies retained for backup, legal, or security reasons for a reasonable period.

You're responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful, harassing, abusive, or harmful.
• Upload content that infringes others' rights or violates the law.
• Attempt to access another person's account without permission.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or its security.
• Use the Service to send spam or for any commercial purpose we haven't authorized.

7. Intellectual property

The Service — including the LoveLetter name, the Pico character, app design, graphics, and software — is owned by Branched Studios LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. These Terms don't give you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as Apple, Google, and our hosting and analytics providers. Your use of the app may also be subject to the applicable app store's terms. We're not responsible for third-party services we don't control.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as content licenses already granted, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — will continue to apply.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that reminders and notifications will always be delivered on time. LoveLetter is a tool for connection, not a substitute for professional relationship, medical, or mental-health advice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Branched Studios LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or content, arising from or related to your use of the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Branched Studios LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.

13. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Branched Studios LLC is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.
